Well, Slave and MATM not making it to #1 was because she was banned from US radio from 2001 to a little bit after MATM. Therefore, a lot of missed #1 possibilities :/. I have no doubt that Slave would’ve gone number 1 if not for that, which made it impossible for any of her singles to make it very far up on the charts.

However, I don’t think she does badly on charts. Compared to most mainstream artists, she does pretty damn well, especially considering the ban. She continuously breaks records regarding charts and album chart positions, etc etc. Usually pop artists that have around her amount of current popularity (except for extreme circumstances like Katy who’s broken a record for #1 singles) land 1 or 2 #1 singles per album, which Britney has mostly kept up with, especially recently. She’s definitely not doing badly whatsoever.
